On the morning of every fourth Thursday in November, Houstonians take to the streets for an annual Thanksgiving Day parade. It may not be as big as the Macy's Day parade, but it's still Texas sized and just as fun. Later that night, those still in a festive mood gather alongside Post Oak Boulevard for the Uptown Tree lighting Ceremony to watch 500,000 lights illuminate 80 Christmas trees -- a great way to kick off the holiday season. Other fun Uptown Tree lighting festivities include live bands and choirs, as well as an expansive fireworks display.
