Every March, nature lovers and art aficionados gather at Houston's beautiful Memorial Park for the spring Bayou City Art Festival. Memorial Park -- with its 1,460 acres of beautiful terra firma, tennis courts, a fitness center, a swimming pool, and miles of stunning multi-use trails -- provides the backdrop for a liberating outdoor gallery of 300 artists working in 19 different mediums. With roots reaching back to 1972, the Bayou City Art Festival began as a small, local crafts and arts festival, and has grown to become on of the most revered art festivals in the country. In 2005, American Style Magazine's readers declared the Bayou City Art Festival to be one of the nation's top 5 fairs and festivals.
