If you happen to be in Houston in February, don't forget to visit nearby Galveston Island for world-class partying at Texas' largest Mardi Gras celebration. Held over two weekends at Galveston Island's Galveston Park, the annual party holds bragging rights to 18 participating Krewes and over 250,000 annual partygoers. Party with locals and other visitors with festivities that include parades, art exhibits, masked balls, and other traditional Mardi Gras activities. The celebration is so expansive that it overflows into two weekends of partying. Local, regional, and nationally recognized live bands provide on-going live background music for the entire festival.
