Alley Theatre

Founded 60 years ago by educator and innovator Nina Vance, the Alley Theatre continues to thrive as one Houston's most prestigious theatre companies. This theatre group entertains a diverse audience with a wide selection of work from new plays and musical theatre to re-visited classics. It is also one of the few American theatre companies that supports actors, designers, and artisans throughout the year. The Alley hosts two stages --  the Hubbard stage has 824 seats, and for a more cozy setting, the Neuhaus seats 310. Inside the theater nine towers, open-air terraces, and a winding spiral staircase create a castle-like ambience enjoyed by all.

This company performs year round with a variety of unique events, including special holiday performances, children's performances, backstage tours, and theatre classes for young adults. In 1996, the Alley received a Tony Award recognizing its achievement for Outstanding Regional Theater.
