Hermann Park

Spanning over 445 acres, Houston's Hermann Park houses some of the city's most renowned attractions -- including the Miller Outdoor Theatre, the Houston Zoo, the Houston Garden Center, the Houston Museum of Natural Science, and the famous Hermann Park Golf Course. The Estate was gifted to the city of Houston back in 1914 by George H. Hermann, and has held bragging rights as the city's most-visited public attraction ever since. Nestled between Rice University and the Museum District, the park offers urban respite in an easy to access location. Users are welcome to visit Inda the Orangutan at the Houston Zoo (located within the park), or go for a run on the 2-mile long Hermann Park jogging trail. There's even a miniature train offering rides for both grandpa and the little kids. Or, get a snow cone and then do some pull-ups on some of the many exercise stations. And before you leave town, don't forget to hit the links on the park's historical golf course. Built in 1922, the golf course features 18 holes of challenging terrain and beautiful fairways.
